CO Road Closures

Reminder to check on road closures due to last year\'s floods or logging operations.

Here is one example from the FS site for a couple of NF and grasslands. Search the site for your NF. They also listed some re-opening of roads. You may also call the regional FS district office.

In addition, CDOT road work and road closures due to flash flood warnings or mud/rock slides will be posted on this site. There is an app to get these alerts to your phone.

Adding - there are a lot of roads that aren\'t officially closed but are now impassible for regular vehicles due to the flooding. I\'m running into quite a few during my summer scouting in Roosevelt NF. One ATV road has washed out so badly that I had to put a 100 lb rock in my front basket to make it back up without tipping backward, and even then it was so scary I won\'t go back I there again. Before the flood it was navigable with a good high-clearance 4WD.
