Co units 80 81

I live in the mountains of Unit 80.  Back in the 1990's, there were over 12,000 Elk in these companion units.  These days, the estimates are between 7-8000 elk.  Blame the DOW for that!
There are some drainages where there aren't many elk, and then some where there are decent herds.  This Summer, we have a trail camera out, and have had 6 different Bulls regularly coming to the Spring it's set up at.  The biggest is a 6 x 7 Bull, and then about 3 5 x 5's are on camera too.
With the West Fork Forest Fire, the Western edges of these units that border area of the fire may be excellent this year?  The fire has burned all Summer in Colorado's trophy unit 76, which takes many years to draw a tag from.  Some Elk perished in the fire, but most probably escaped into adjacent areas.  So, that may be worth looking into, except a lot of hunters may have the same idea?
