We haven't nailed down exactly which unitwe will be hunting this fall, but am looking for some feedback from those that have hunted these GMU's during rifle season 2 or 3 in the past.  We will be going during the 3rd rifle season this year.

This is a new area to us.  We've previously hunted out of GMU 521 in the Raggeds Wilderness Area from Horse Ranch Park.

Any info you guys can provide is much appreciated!

Has nothing to do with your post but rather your screen name. Another mortarman marine. Good luck this year.

This is where I am going to try next year for my first elk hunt ever.  Have you collected much info on herd population or anything else. I'd love to hear anything you have learned  or if you areeven still going to this area?

Last year during muzzleloader season, I was able to bag my first elk, a cow in GMU 78 at around 9500 feet.  We had a bunch of bulls bugling around us for the rest of the time we were there.  I can tell you that the animals are there, but they aren't near the roads. ;)
