My buddy just received his Colorado mountain goat from the taxidermist, the day after I found I had a 500 series number for my CO mountain goat application in the same unit I helped him on this hunt. Pretty cool that he obtained his mount within hours after me finding out I drew my tag. Barry at Alpine taxidermy in Hot Sulphur Springs, CO does some fantastic work! Mount turned out really nice, and I helped him hang it yesterday.

WOW!!!!!!!! I really like the full body mount of this great goat.... :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

Nice to have good friends that will lend a helping hand... :D :D

Great looking mount. :upthumb:

Probably don\'t want to know the price tag though. ;)

Is this a once in a lifetime tag????

I never had the time or money when I was younger to hunt anywhere except here in south Arkansas.... Started elk hunting in 1998 and really enjoyed it until I had my heart attack in April 2002 and even pass then till 2005 when my oldest son and his wife came to Colorado with us for the last elk hunt... :( :(

That\'s the reason I enjoy all the hunts you guys and gals go on by reading about them and seeing the pictures on the forum... :D :D

Roman I wish you the best of luck on your goat hunt this fall... :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

Dan, I\'m hoping I connect on one!

Francis, $2.5k - ouch! But, turned out great.

Phil, In CO mountain goat is not a once in a lifetime tag. However, if you draw, you cannot start accumulating preference points for 5 years. So, for me, this may be my only chance...

How many pp does it take to draw????

That plus 5 years may be a long time between hunt anyway...

Yep Barry is excellent he has done three sheep and a deer for my family he kinda specializes in sheep and goats does great work

Scott, my wife only likes Euro mounts, so that is what I will do. I will keep the hide and figure out if I can find a place on a wall somewhere for that.

Roman, I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of euros... but PLEASE don\'t euro that.... PLEASE!!!!!!!
That animal is a once in a life time opportunity and I just don\'t think the euro could EVER do justice for it...

That is my 2 cents and you don\'t have to live with me like you would your wife, but I ask you to think about it!
Look at pics online, the goat horns are just too small and the head is too big. It really takes away from how amazing it is....

Ok, off the pedestal I go.

I would LOVE to see the moose euro\'d!

Here\'s another no euro vote! IMO the hide is as much or more impressive on a mtn goat than the horns. As you know, there are few full body mounts as beautiful as a mtn goat done well!

Hey Roman, I got an idea. Build a room on to the side of your house where you could put mounts other than euro\'s. For want of a better name call it something like, oh I don\'t know, a trophy room or something like that. Just tell your wife you\'ll keep it clean so she doesn\'t have to go in there. There wont be a shower, water closet or sink so how hard can it be!

I have a room just like that Tim! It\'s where all my trophies go. I refer to it as my \'garage\'
