Do you hunt opener or wait for the rut peak?

What are the different experiences you've had? Do you like to hunt patterned, habitual elk or wait for the bugles?

All my buddies hunt from day one, I like to be a week into September at least. Of course they don't have the young family and work schedule I do.

Made it out this year, but got soaked due to some much needed rain. With fires this year had no complaints with the rain.
