I purchased a lightweight tarp this past season to use as an emergency shelter and to give me a little cover from the elements when I use my bivy. I chose the Kifaru Sheep Tarp. It has durable connection points, comes in at 9oz without pegs & cordage and has dimensions of 112\"x60\". Worked pretty well for me this past season. I\'ve only used it twice, but have no complaints with its performance. I did add additional cordage and pegs.

Used it for a weekend archery hunt with my bivy shelter:

And, for a rifle season hunt - blocking wind and occasional rain/snow mix:

Do any of you use a small shelter/tarp?

I have a Equinox Egret silnylon tarp for one of my small backpacking tents.
It made a great addition for that tent

I dont have a pic, but here is a website -

i have a crappy one.

but, i have sat under it in driving sleet snow, and kept glassing. it was a big difference between freezing my ass and freezing my ass and hating it.

I have an 8x10 tarp from Oware that weights 13 oz. I can stretch it over my hammock or if I have to go to the ground, I can set it up in a half pyramid or flying diamond configuration.
