My husband has a north face down bag that he says is a 650 fill. I've used it and didn't find it all that warm. Are there any suggestions for a ladies bag that would be warmer?
you need to look at the temp rating. just becasue it is 650 fill it could be a higher temp rating. also down can compress and loose its insulation value if it is stored in a compacted state. make sure to store them very loosely so as to not loose the loft. i have a 0 degreee northface superlight as i am a cold sleeper and it is 650 fill and i like it.
It's definitely about the temperature rating and not the fill power. The grade of the down usually just determines how light and compressible it is to maintain a certain temperature rating.
