I know many of you have your own areas that you enjoy or may regularly hunt, but I am interested in your dream elk hunt.

If I could give you a plane ticket and an elk tag to any state, what would it be?

Never really thought about it before. But it would be a dream to have a whole area full of elk and only me there with them. That would be a dream hunt to me.

Same here Francis! A dream hunt for me would have to at least involve my father, and probably the others in camp as well. Part of the hunt is the camaraderie and without it, it wouldn\'t be a complete dream hunt.

The hunt itself would have to involve multiple large bulls screaming their heads off. Being a rifle hunter, I don\'t get to experience that. I would also love to be in a situation where I see the biggest bull of my life and get to not pull the trigger, instead choosing to wait for something larger because I know there are multiple others around that are, indeed, larger :D

Dream elk hunt for me would be with my dad and a friend named Wayne.... Dad never really hunted with me growing up took me out a few times but a Wayne a friend of ours from church got me started. I would have to pick Montana to be the hunt and it would be archery during the rut. What about you Dan?

Im with you Alan....

Montana hunt with my father. Buy a deer and elk combo tag and not leave until they are both filled. :upthumb:

A spot in Wyoming I was told about by a family friend...but I can\'t hunt there because I am considered a liability in the state of Wyoming.

A liability?

You certainly are, you are a liability that can kill all of the elk :upthumb:

Hey Dan....you and I can\'t hunt a wilderness area in Wyoming without a guide.

Wow.... I did not know that.

Very interesting and thanks for the info.

For me it would be a full week long hunt, in good weather, with my son. It would be great if we could be a little picky about the elk we take.

I grew up reading about hunting elk in the Selway and always wanted to do that. I understand that it may not be as good as it used to be so if I could turn back time to when it was I guess that\'s what I would call my dream hunt but I\'m thankful to be anywhere in the Rockies and hopefully one day I get to take my son with me.
