Did you know....

Calories in dried, or dehydrated, fruit
Dried fruit is a great tasting snack. It may be tempting to indulge excessively, since it also has nutritional value.

But partakers should be aware of the calories in dried fruit. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the caloric content of fruit that has been dehydrated is approximately twice that of the fresh version.

This value is not the rule for every fruit; some fruits, such as dried blueberries, contain nearly triple the calories.

Yes that should be ok while hunting. I had no idea the calories would be higher. That is interesting.

I suppose they mean \"higher per gram\" ... once you take a bunch of grams of water out, the remaining grams of substance have the same number of calories, but less weight.

Either way, I\'m not a fruit-fan.

I know, they\'re healthy and ... blah, blah, blah. I just never had a sweet-tooth for them, and I think they stink. I wonder if fruit-eaters are smelled by elk, and if so, it is an attractant or a deterrent?
