drop away or whisker biscuit

I have been hearing great things about drop away's and I was wondering if they held together going through the elk woods. I am a spot and stalk hunter and was wanting some info.

lol opening a can of worms lol i love  a biscuit because its a garentee no fail rest. but from what i understand so is the QAD drop away and it is a fulcapture rest heres the deal i say go with what makes you the most confident it will make you shoot better

Anything full capture is fine. No mechanical issues anymore with these new drop aways so don't even consider that.  I've used both.  No preferences here.

drop away for sure, ive used both and i feel that a drop away is the better of the two.

If you go the whisker biscuit rout make sure you don't get the whisker biscuit "styled" Octane Hostage Pro arrow rest. It works fine when it's new, but the bristles wear down super fast and start to change your point of impact or the arrow falls through. I've got a QAD HDX drop away on order for that reason  . Maybe other guys have had better luck with the Hostage Pro but not this guy!

A WB is great for a starting archer, the draw back comes when you want better accuracy. WB's allow the arrow to be affected during the entire release of the arrow until it is off the string. Any move you make will be telegraphed to thearrow by the bristles and the nock. With the drop away, once the rest drops, the only contact is the nock. As far as drop away rests, they are not all made equal. Read all the reviews you can on the new drop away's. Some of the less expensive Quad rests are having problems. One of our staff shooters has gone through 4 of them. 2 other staff shooters have gone through several as well. I shoot an inexpensive Code Red, and some times a Kazaway. Both are well built rests, I have never had a failure with either of them. Also watch out for the WB during freezing weather, the bristles can and will freeze up and strip the vains off of your arrow.  ;D  If you go with the WB, and hunt in freezing weather, try using Gink dry fly on the bristles, or a good scent free silicon spray. What ever you decide, have fun and take a kid bow hunting.

I have used both, and now shoot a lot better with a drop away. I use a code red and have had no problems going through thick brush, or below freezing temps. It has always worked for me and I am using the same one I bought six years ago.

Used both Trohy taker fc and the hostage.  Liked the hostage, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone who shoots a ton as you will have contact with every shot=wear like mentioned above.  Did notice a big difference in groups under 20 yards with the fall away also.  So my vote is +2 for the fall away.
