Dude..... a elk chewed on my game camera.

Was able to get into the woods to retrieve some pictures from game cameras. Upon arrival on one of my cameras noticed there was something odd about it. Yup, had a cow elk chew up my camera like a chew toy. I've heard about elk, bears and other critters doing this but never thought it would happen to me.

Mine was totally twisted sideways on the tree last time I checked it.  No photographic evidence of the culprit however... just a single doe on the SD card.

I just purchased a security box for mine and i will put some lag screws to keep it secure.

I will be investing in getting a security box for both my cameras. Glad the camera is still functional.

After doing some outdoor CSI, I noticed the bites on the back aren't so wide (concluding that it was done by a squirrel or sciuromorpha?, if you note the bite marks on the front are wide, indicating the bite marks are done by incisors of an elk.

The attractant is supposed to go on the ground in front of the camera.......not on the camera!

haha good one! I think I'll try it on a stump next year. On a good note the camera is still functional.
