Elk found on Google Earth!

I was doing some research on GE and I finally spotted some elk!
There are 4 elk in the open meadow.
Imagery date 6/29/14
elevation ~10,000

I noticed the shadows were about mid-morning so I figured the elk would be out feeding.
I pursued the meadows and VOILA!

Brad you can do more to confirm they are elk by checking previous year GE photos and seeing if the objects are gone. I believe you are correct in identifying them as elk in the picture.

Definitely looks like elk to me, but I would do as Swede mentioned and double check with different dates.

Yeah, I did that but the previous GE aerial pic was in 2009 and the imagery is not clear at all.
Before that is 1994, 2006 and they are worse
Other current aerial imagery shows snow, and lots of it

Maybe we ought to ground-truth that spot, eh, Brad?

Brad, I have found that problem also, Still it looks like elk, and I am satisfied that it is.

Pay no attention to Tick. All he wants to do is scout the area so he can shoot one.

The spot is in WY where we are going to be hunting, and its approx 2 miles from base camp.
So yes, we will be scouting so we CAN shoot at least one, maybe 3

Yeah its a good looking spot, I think the wind would be favorable and consistent
