if you would go to 4:20 and watch from there. I am assuming the rut has kicked in pretty good as the bull is pretty vocal. could you enlighten me to what this bull is saying to help me understand his behavior. I heard the caller bugling in the background but no cow calls. I am assuming this guy was a feisty satellite bull. it would be nice to know if this guy was intercepted because he was bugling already or did he speak up after cold calling.

I didn\'t watch the whole video, but what I did watch was awesome footage.
My guess is when you have a big bull screaming like that he is being harassed by younger bulls like the two that came by.
I have had great luck in bulls acting like that by closing fast and when I see cows within about 20 yards give out a spike squeal and get ready to shoot.

do you think he was a herd bull? i didn\'t get the vibe that he was pissed like i have seen on other vids. idk, this is why i was using the vid for teaching. you get to see what the bull is doing and reacting.

It looked to me like a satellite bull advertising and displaying. He had no cows. He was not trying to run off another bull. The chuckles were just saying come to me sweetie.

The bulll was just bugling to let cows in the vicinity know he was in the area.
What I thought interesting was how many times the bull looked directly at the camera man
5 - 6 times?

I am glad I wasn\'t off track. a little unsure.... dana had this vid posted in the youtube section and I remembered seeing it on elk101 last year and thinking what a cool video. but I looked at it differently this time and was trying to guess what he was saying and thinking in order to make up a game plan. I just haven\'t seen or heard this much action where we hunt in Colorado....

Excellent video.

That bull was acting like he was pretty sure there was a cow in the vicinity...and he was trying to get her attention. Great job by everyone involved in that hunt.

Been lucky enough over the years to get to witness this exact behavior up close and personal quite a few times...it truly gets my heart hammering! :upthumb:

Watched the whole video and now agree with others that the bull was just announcing his presence. He was responding to the caller well.

Do you think he looked at the camera so many times because the film may have been edited. I do!

I think this is a Double R bull. Responsive to the call but Reluctant to engage. The chuckles were in hopes that a cow might be around. But I feel that the film did have a lot of editing so it is really hard to tell for sure.
