So if you were able to apply for a special duty assignment and two of the 3 states available are Montana and Wyoming Which one and why??? Go......

I assume you are referring to a work assignment. You have a good situation either way as far as available elk hunting is concerned. Maybe it would depend on just where I was being stationed, but I would give a slight edge to Wyoming.

Guess I should have put that in the original post. F.E Warren AFB WY and Malmstrom AFB MT

Alan, after you choose, would you tell the other people, you know an old geezer that is slightly over weight, needs good pay, and lots of time off in hunting season, but is available? :D

As Swede said, good opportunities for elk hunting in both locations. Personally, I am just not a huge fan of Cheyenne and the WIND so even though I\'ve never been there before, I\'d choose Great Falls, MT.

Cheyenne might not be for you if you don\'t like wind ... but there are definitely opportunities for elk there.

Great Falls has some spots near there, too, though. Hard to go wrong.

i would pick wyoming to live there and hunt also. Drew my gen tag in wyoming this year so i will definitely going to be spending some time there. i would like to move there for work. But the only place i could transfer would be sheridan.

I\'m going to go ahead and apply for the job. I\'m putting Malmstrom AFB first choice and FE Warren as my second.
