What is your favorite month to hunt deer. Doesn\'t matter if you hunt whitetail or mule deer, what is your favorite?

Me personally I really enjoy November.
It\'s not just for the main reason that you are thinking.... the rut....
I also really enjoy the weather during November.

Some of the main points about November:
- The weather is cooler so I can sit out all day and not die from the heat.
- SNOW
- THE RUT
- it can be very cold, so it has them moving around for food to keep their calories up
- THE RUT
- Crisp mornings mean I can hear them moving (depending on the location)
- THE RUT

etc etc etc

So what is it for you guys?

January in AZ.

my deer season in california is just to friggen hot. (i still try)

this year, i am going to try to do Dec in AZ, then hang out and buy a new 2016 tag..really go for it. unless the woman that lives with me cusses me out.

For me it is 3 weeks. Last two of October and the first week of November.

Last week of October and the first 3 weeks of November are my favorite weeks. November 3-10 if I had to pick one week to hunt.

For some reason Halloween has always been my favorite day to hunt.

I think that my OK rut kicks off just a TAD later than yours in Iowa.

If I had to pick a week it would be more like the 9th-16th

November for sure. I\'ve killed a few good ones around Thanksgiving as well. Statistically, Nov. 11 has the most PnY bucks killed (entered) for almost all midwest, northeast, western whitetail states. This, I\'m sure, is affected by the fact that a lot of guys have off that day as well as it being smack dab in the middle of the rut for most of the country\'s best deer states.

Pretty cool stat Will.

I\'ve always hunted the Thanksgiving break and it wasn\'t until this recent season that I was actually able to have some success during it.
The ladies went Black Friday shopping and I went Whitetail hunting...... it went well :upthumb:

Any month with and \"R\" in it, just like the old days. Plus Jurly and Aurgust.

That\'s good that you have the restraint to take off May and June Barry! :haha:

Wish we had the luxury to pick and choose. In Nor-Cal, Bow Season is just Mid August to Mid September, and rifle season is late September to late October.

There are only a few selected rut hunts, and most of those are just junior hunts, and hard to draw. My Son never drew one.

I love watching the bucks start to posture in mid-November! Would love a chance to hunt them at that time.
