The most popular fletchings are: vanes, blazer vanes, FOBs and feather fletching.

What do you use and why?

I really like feathers, they fly nice and look cool. Kinda noisy. I have used them a lot over the years. Not good for wet weather tho

I also use vanes. Fly good, good for wet weather. Really noisy if a vane get tore

More recently I started using blazer type vanes. Fly really nice at long distances. Small.

Never used FOBs. Seen them. Didnt interest me

I have been using blazers for a long time. I like the durability of them and like you said they fly great at long distance.

They are all so fast and easy to put on my arrows.

i\'ve never seen a FOB in real life.

no thanks.

i use FFP 360 vanes. it\'s a 3.6\" long vane but it is short heighted...i like the mental advantage of more vane clearances from everything. i have no issues at all. the new ones are some freaky stiff plastic. like a blazer.

FFP 360 for me. I prefer the 360 over the small Blazer type vanes. More quiet and provide excellent steering.

Flex Fletch vanes are in a league of their own as far as I am concerned. Nothing holds its shape or returns to shape better than Flex Fletch. They do however come at a price. They are expensive.

I\'ve shot arrows thru fletchings. The FFP STUFF is robust. I get all cheapskate ingenuity and fix them with packing tape. Amazing how tough they are. Their hot pink might be the worst hot pink ever. It\'s a very flamboyant and fabulous in yo face pink.

I shoot the flo red vanes which are actually their hot pink vanes. I have girls that shoot bows and bowhunt....we all shoot the same colors. :)

the original 2\" blazer they hold up nice fly nice and I see no reason to change I would rather just keep shooting then playing around with others.

Yes.

AAE 4 inch ! Never had one come off the shaft. I buried one in a hay bail and couldn\'t find it. It stayed in there all winter and I finally found it the next spring when I was feeding the horses. Brought it in the house and just the warmth of the room overnight was enough to straighten it up good as new.

I use the same as Cliff and Mark. They are VERY quiet downrange and FF are the toughest vane I\'ve ever used. I used to buy the FF flash vanes and they are even more durable but make more noise than the 360s. I\'ve heard good things about the Silent knight from FF as well

I\'m planning on using the FF Silent Knight\'s in 3\", per a recommendation. I\'ll let you all know what I think!

i bought some arrows once with a 2 inch vein like blazers but not blazers. those things came off constantly thru my whisker bisquit. switched to blazers and never had another problem. my current arrows have straight fletching and arrow wraps. i dont like either for arrow flight but came that way when i bought them and they look cool.
