food in grizzly country

My partner and I were lucky enough to get drawn for a combo tag in Montana. We are planning on doing some bivy hunting on our archery elk trip. We would like to be able to stay out for 2 or 3 days at a time. The area we are planning on hitting is known grizzly country.
With that being said, does anyone have any advise on what to do or not do with our food? Do you worry about carrying your food in your pack? Do you take any special precautions? Do  you eat your dinners where you plan on sleeping? Should we hang our packs and food in trees away from our tents? If so, how far away?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are getting pretty excited to give this hunt a try. Thanks!

I usually eat freeze dried meals. I keep all of my food in a waterproof stuff sack. I will hang it about 50-100 yards away from my tent high in a tree. I prepare my food outside of my tent but nearby. All of the trash goes back in the sack and hung away from camp.
I don't worry about it being in my pack while hiking or hunting.

Remember that gum, candies and even toothpaste might attract bears keep that stuff away from your tent too.

Always have your bear spray or lead dispensing items close by.

Happy hunting.

You may want to check the regs as some places you are required to use bear proof containers, storage bags.

When I hunted Alaska, we hoisted our freeze dried food in a tree a little ways from camp using dry bags.

A small pulley or 2 can be real handy
