Probably overkill for a hunting knife; but I'm a knife sharp freak! I keep this in my office for keeping my knife sharp. Easier to stay sharp than to sharpen a dull knife. Oh boy! This put a polished edge on my pocket knife. I put one drop and smear it around on the belt loop od a tool sheath. Then simple strop motion every once in awhile for edge maintenance.
For a super sharp knife edge. I use this.
