I've been elk hunting since 1985.  My only harvest has been one cow.  I have hunted with a group of guys who have all taken several bulls. We hunt in the same places.  I hunt as hard or harder than most of the group members but still no luck.  I still believe persistance will pay off but I am getting very frustrated.
I switched from gun to archery about 4 years ago.  I did miss a cow with my bow.  I have hired outfitters with worst results than DIY hunts. At least I usually see elk but with my outfitters I saw nothing except elk on other mountain ranges.  This year I have two weeks to hunt in Colorado.  I am from Florida so pre season scouting is out.  I would like any good information on specific places in Colorado.  I usually hunt unit 62 but will go someplace else.  I will be hunting the last two weeks of the archery season.  I am not opposed to using a guide service for information but believe I would prefer a do it yourself hunt.
Thanks for any information
