Well, one of my best tree stand spots suffered a causality over the winter.
It looked like this last year

Yikes!!! Good thing you\'re out scouting Brad. Be a real bummer to see that on opening day!!

Wow!!

Wonder if the stand got sent to the lumber-mill, or the lumber guys have a new stand.

That\'s a bummer. Is that the only placed they logged?

Oh not by a long shot. Logging was everywhere
I would suggest scouting to see

Interesting to see that Brad. Are they only logging the beetle kill trees? How do you think it\'ll affect the area from an elk perspective? Are there new roads everywhere too?

Are they only logging the beetle kill trees?
Nope. My tree stand was attached to a live tree

How do you think it\'ll affect the area from an elk perspective?
Not sure yet. It will definitely change for the elk.
This was a bedding area

Are there new roads everywhere too?
Not really. The roads they made for logging were filled back in with slash
Its a real beeatch to walk thru/around

That sucks Brad, good thing you\'re able to get out and explore now though! Very similar thing happened up near the fence line of that one place you sent me to. TONS of logging in there between the road and the fence.

Looks like I\'m not the only one having to deal with the ol\' Tiger Cat and dozer... :downthumb: :downthumb:

Good thing is you can see a lot better... Bad thing is they can too....

Great pictures. I would assume the elk will like all the New shouts growing in the clear cut. Seems like they would stay close if the pressure wasn\'t too bad.

WOW! Sorry about your tree stand, and your spot. At least you found the damage in advance, rather than on opening day??
