I\'ve never considered them. I always just cuss, stop, unlaced and dump the pebbles out. Recently on my trail runs, I get burrs and stickers int socks. Pain!

I gave up and bought low top trail gaiters. I think this is gonna work! Anyone using mid high gaiters with hunt boots? I don\'t think I\'ll like the knee high ones. Anyone?

I just bought the Cabelas Instinct knee high gaiters. They were half price in the bargain cave. Could have really used them last year as wet as it was! If I didn\'t wear my rain pants I was soaked from the knees down every morning.

I had to wear gaiters in Colorado..... it was always wet. Idaho, not so much.

I hate rain pants, so (knee high) gaiters are my good friend! Been using them for at least 10 years.

Uses:

I put them on when I weed whack. Keeps the stickers out of my socks and boots, and keeps my jeans clean.

I use them in the Summer up here bowhunting for the same reason...stickers!

They keep the water from wicking into my boot tops on my elk hunt. Great for those surprise rain/ snow storms.

They take up much less weight/ mass in my pack than rain pants...all I need is gaiters and my Space Rain Jacket, and I am ready for anything September throws at me in the high country.

I started using the lower trail running gaiters last year. Primarily to keep twigs, stickers, rocks, dirt/dust, etc. from getting into the top of my boot. They worked great and I will continue to use them hunting. The only issue I had is that the area I hunted was really rocky and the rocks cut through the thin diameter cord running under the boot. Just need to get paracord or something like it to replace the original. In wet/snowy weather I use my OR Crocodile GoreTex gaiters.

The gaiters are REI brand trail running gaiters for $29:

I bought these last year from Cabelas and really liked them.
