Best wishes to you bnsafe and to all the others here at BackTrak Outdoors. I am leaving for camp in the morning. I have no plans for going to town after I get there. Hopefully I get a deer or elk, and can take it to the locker and resupply all in one trip. Let\'s all plan to get back together here, and discuss our hunt around the campfire, as soon as we are finished. Every hunt is special and I know we will have plenty to talk about and probably some good questions to think over.

I\'m another step closer!
Went up and set up camp today.
Checked my trail camera and got some more pics but the batteries went dead a couple weeks ago
Will post trail cam pics soon

Scott and Swede, good luck!

As always, Brad makes a great camp. Nice job!

I am 90% packed. Heading up early Friday morning. I don\'t have the luxury of a garage right now, so I will have to load most things that morning. I don\'t want to give people in this city incentive to break into my car. A guy at the archery club had both his bows stolen out of his truck in early August. His truck was parked in his driveway. I sure miss my garage.

Good luck to all you BTO elk slayers. Looking forward to hearing all the stories, exaggerated or not. :shifty:

Rudy, loved your Elktour 2014 vids. Awesome bull for you BTW.

My torn shoulder tendons have kept me from doing much in the way of preparation. Turned my bow poundage down so I could shoot a few arrows a couple nights a week. Been biking, running, and hiking with a loaded pack all summer but never really sure I would be able to hunt. This past week I made my decision...I have to hunt. Can\'t get another cortisone shot until October so Alleve has become my new favorite health snack. I\'m going solo mostly because of my surly attitude and not being fit company. I\'m finally getting excited. Hope there is one suicidal elk that wants to catch my arrow and tip over close to a road.

See you all when the season is over. Leaving Thursday.

Nice camp Brad, hope you had some help! Looks like the new Stihl in the background there came in handy.

Good luck everyone and have an enjoyable and safe time!

We took the goats out and tested the new pack saddles this weekend. Not going to get to make it out until the 5th but that\'s right around the corner!

Good luck to all the Elk mentors! Look forward to seeing all of your dead elk!

Safe travels to all of you! Looking forward to hearing your reports. That is all I have for the next month and a half :D

I have an oil change on Thursday, grocery shopping will be done Wednesday, I put 6 more meals together and into the freezer and will be leaving at 6:30 on Friday morning. I can barely sleep at night from the excitement.

Good luck to everyone this season. I really look forward to all the stories!

Good luck to all of ya and I wish all of ya can shoot a good ol\' biggun.... When ya do remember me settin\' he pullin\' for ya.... :agg: :agg:

Lark
I have heard some good intel about the area you are hunting.
Recent elk sightings have been made.
Stick to the plan.

Gear is all packed and staged to be put in the truck Wednesday night. Boat is loaded on the trailer along with the freezer full of gallons of water and ice. I will leave Thursday afternoon. I hope the monsoons are over in Colorado. I am ready for some cool weather. 92 degrees and 65% humity at home now. Yuck!! it still has 4 hours to warm up too.

Good luck to all.....

Thanks OR Elk Sniper! Great memories that will last a lifetime.

I\'ll be off the grid I believe but will look forward to seeing what the BTO family has experienced when I get back.

After a nice dry out this past weekend, CO is once again getting pounded. I just finished driving through flooded streets here in Colorado Springs. The sky opened up big time.

If you want more specific weather for your hunting area, try NOAA. It takes a bit to load when CO is having a bad weather day.

Below is an example. Use the map to zoom out to find your hunting spot. Click in until you get zoomed into your hunting area. Be mindful of the elevation you click on to get the best forecast for your hunting area.

Right now, Friday into the weekend looks drier. Hope it stays that way.

Hey Brad: Why didn\'t you tarp your tents. The first big snow or gully washer, you\'ll wish you had!
