What are you doing during elk season John? Painting, sanding or applying chemicals somewhere? I hope that is not your preparation to go to the outhouse.

Honestly, I\'m still in the goal-setting phase of preparation.

I need to set goals for exercise and shooting and scouting.

RRT Exercise ... I\'m putting at least 4 days per week into P90x3. I need to lose some weight, but for now I am at a plateau, and I\'m ok with that -- for now. I will drop at least 10 pounds prior to September. I may end up doing some more endurance horse racing/riding this summer and with that, I should really aim for 15-20 pounds. That\'s a pretty high bar to jump.

RRT Shooting ... I need to be better at shooting ... too windy and cold for now.

As for Scouting ... trips will be planned for accessing the area after snow lets up.

iccy- I didn\'t have many choices of sleeves.

razor - Yes it works very well. Currently training at 10k.

swede -

I use one of these on the way to work. I have a long drive (50) minutes so I start about 60 days before my hunt doing the breathing exercise about 10 minutes each day. It helps to exercise your diaphragm muscles.
