Gloves?

To better help you, are you a rifle hunter or bow hunter?
The reason I ask is there are lighter weight options and heavier weight options, by weapon preference will drive those.

I'm going to move this to the hunting gear section to get you some more input!

There are some great options but you have to spend the money. Hand warmers work great on a cheaper budget but eventually you will pay for good gloves. Hope that helps

I use a variety of gloves depending on what season I'm hunting and how cold it is. My main gloves are some thinner Under Armour gloves that work great. I'll also utilize ski gloves or even mittens if it's really cold.

i have just a super basic thin lightweight glove for archery on cold mornings or sleeping.  I've had them for years and they fit tight. So tight I wear them in my lightly insulated gloves as a liner during winter rifle. My hands run super hot and sweaty so they probably only stay on during the walk in or out.

I like my moreno gloves I got from First Lite. First Lite Men's Lightweight Merino-Wool Gloves
they are light weight, warm, and dry fairly quickly.

I got a pair of the Sitka Shooter gloves in XL but even then they are too small for my bear paws.  I like the feel of them and can make them work but does anybody know of anything similar that comes bigger?

Heck, I'm cheap.... ;D ;D I use military wool glove liners. If and when my hands get cold I slip them in my hand warmer pocket on what ever jacket I'm wearing one at a time... When I was doing a lot of calling I never worn gloves just used my hand warmer pockets when needed...

Cool I'm not the only cheap one.  Army wool all the way.  I usually keep a hand warmer on my waste that  I use to carry a small video camera during all seasons, so if they do get to cold I just slip them in as needed.

Have you tried cabela's extreme gloves. I have big mits and they fit me well. I suggest you try on a pair if you live close to a store.

Wool Army surplus work well for me.
Used them exclusively in Alaska on my moose last year

I'll have to try them out, I may just end up using a pair ofleather work gloves.  Really just wanted to keep the chill off in the morning and have some sort of dexterity.  Use the cheap wool gloves for waterfowl so I can carry several pair incase I get them wet.

Every situation is different, I hear ya. I hate wearing gloves hunting but the older I get the more I have to adapt because cold nasty weather seems to move game more. Have a good one and good luck this year

+1, I usually have a good handwarmer that I keep my camcorder in on my waist if they get too cold.

For my September Elk hunt this year I was very happy with my Sitka Traverse gloves.  Got them on sale for just over $20.  Well worth it. The tech fingers worked great on my iphone as well.
