Meand my buddy went to GMU 53 for the first time...we were DIY backpacking expecting to put plenty of miles on foot as both of us are in good physical condition and we were amazed at how rough that country was...Anybody looking to hunt elk in GMU 53 during 2nd season better think again...the elk are high and you only catch them at dawn and dusk...it was difficult and we put about 20 miles on foot...you better have good optics too....does anybody have any tips for how i should hunt that unit again? my uncle has killed plenty of bulls in his own honey hole and gave me the reigns but i will say again....that was tough...im not looking for a sweet spot or anything but i just want to know a good way to hunt them cause it was hot and there was no migrations
