I\'m NOT going to get up before 4 a.m. to drive to the ranch, then ATV to my stand by 0:dark:30.
Nope ... I\'m going to take my wife out to dinner Friday night (because she deserves my time at least as much as the pronghorn do) and then when I get up, I get up. I\'m going to drive leisurely to the ranch and park the ATV next to the solar windmill, 20 yards from my blind.
Personally, I don\'t think the antelope will mind. I scared them off the pond to put my blind up, then drove around a while and when I drove back past, they were out there again, at noon-2:00 ... so I realized: Why beat myself up?
Hunting is supposed to be enjoyable, and so I\'m going to let it be.
If it doesn\'t work, there\'s broken country close by so try some spot and stalk with my homemade pronghorn hat. It\'s more of a rut tactic, but what the hell? It\'s supposed to be fun, right?
