Today is a good day, some of my faith is restored in the hunting community.
I had received an email on another site regarding the elk unit I hunted last year. It was two gentlemen from Iowa who paid BIG for some land owner vouchers that game them access to the entire unit.
Little did they know, but I was hunting the same unit this year and the archery season right before theirs. (Mine was Sept 1-14th and theirs was 15-22 Sept)
My spot is an absolute secret with LOW LOW LOW LOW pressure, but I somewhat felt bad for the guys because I knew how much they paid for the tags. They also had tried another unit the year before and didn\'t even see an elk. So I somewhat felt sympathy for them and offered up lots of help.
Fast forward to their trip and it went GREAT!
Both of the guys got into elk daily. They had plenty of action and plenty of shots. One guy missed a few and the other arrowed a nice 6x6 elk.?
To top it, both of them arrowed VERY nice bears. So to go from not seeing an elk to this year where they killed one, saw a bunch, and killed two bears, they were VERY PLEASED.
Fast forward to today. The guy who I had been directly helping sends me a text and asks for my email address. He sent me all the coordinates of new places they found, detailed descriptions of the encounters they had at each location AND THEY SENT ME A $50 DOLLAR GIFT CARD FROM CABELAS to say thank you.?
They did not have to do that, I offered the information on my own. So I am VERY happy right now. I\'ve had so many bad experiences the past year and a half with bad or annoying people in camp, people stealing spots or ruining spots, etc etc. So to have this happen, it really restored some of my faith!
