If you have ever wondered about hammock camping but didn\'t want to invest a bunch of money, here is a cheap way to try it out

I was in the local K-Mart yesterday and found hammocks in the camping section for $18. That\'s cheap enough for just about anyone to give it a try without breaking the bank.

I\'ve been looking into buying a cheap hammock like you mentioned and just hanging it off of my pack, then always have a light sleeping bag on hand.
That way if I ever find a spot that is too far in and I don\'t wanna hike out, I can make a quick fire and set up a camp.

Get the ones they sell at Walmart they are fairly cheap, lightweight and comfortable enough to stretch out in the back of a C130 and sleep for hours. So I am sure they will work fine in the elk woods.
