I am probably just freaking myself out, but I\'m having second thoughts on my bigger buck.
I chose the upright mount because that is what the taxidermist recommended.

Does anyone else ever over think their choice?

Never had that problem with mounts Dan. But thats only because I have never shot one worth mounting :(

Haha same here Francis. This is my first buck worth mounting, I think that why I am driving myself nuts.

I\'m sure as long as he does good work your mount will look fine. :upthumb:

Upright with a slight turn makes for a very nice mount. If you know where you will be hanging it, make the turn toward the direction people will first see it from when they enter the room.

X2 My favorite mount is upright alert looking slightly right. That is the way the deer was standing when I released the arrow.

yes, i overthink everything. but, they all look good. make the choice you want now, it will change when you move to other houses etc. one thing i wish i had done though, i have a hit list of 5-6 animals i wanted, i wish i had pictured it in my mind how i wanted it to end up on my wall instead of just looking at one animal at a time

Scott, you make a good point on thinking of a few animals verse just one at a time.
When I do it like that, I am happy with my choice and glad I listened to the taxidermists recommendation.

If I kill more mad they have smaller racks or better sides of a rack, then I will turn it a bit sideways.
This buck was very symmetrical, so I think he will look good with the one I chose
