does anyone have a recommendation for a good set of collapsible hiking poles that won?t break the bank. Would love to stay under $100, but if that isn?t realistic, let me know.

Thanks!

Cascade mountain tech on amazon $44. Everyone rants and raves about them. Carbon fiber, cork, and quick lock. Got my dad a set for this season.

Also mountain Smith makes some good ones from buddies that use them.

Mountain tech carbon for the win! Costco has them for $35.

Most people get the carbon. There are $44 on Amazon. I haven?t seen the aluminum in person so can?t speak to them.

Whatever you choose, please don?t buy black diamond. They are run by outwardly antihunters. Do the research support someone else! Lots of pole companies out there.

Costco has Mountain Tech ones for under $50. I?ve been using them this summer recovering from knee surgery, they have performed just as well as the ones I bought for my wife for $150.

Mentioned the Cascade carbon Mountain Tech poles to my lovely wife  and she ordered two sets and they showed up yesterday! :thewave:

I have never hiked with poles. As I?m hoping to fill my first tag I am worried about one more thing to carry or worry about.  Are poles worth it?

In short, Yes.

As someone who has never used them, I definitely think they would help with a pack out, but they certainly aren't necessary. More of an added bonus if you have them.

I just picked up a set of Paria tri fold carbons. $57. They seem like they'll do the do. Field testing in 10 days!
