How do you carry your rangefinder?

Made an arrangement with a very generous member here and received a rangefinder last night. I am curious to hear if you keep it in a pants pocket, pack pocket, strung over a shoulder, clipped to your wrist...etc.

I have have one of these in my fly fishing pack that I\'m not using but I don\'t know if it\'ll work for a range finder...it\'s pretty big.

Right hand belt pocket on pack. bow will be in my left hand, so pocket opens easily and quietly. Rangefinder is connected by bungee so I don\'t leave it on the mountain.

My Vortex has a clip. I attach it to my harness, or clip it to my belt. I also secure it with the lanyard, so if it ever comes unclipped it is not lost.

i\'ve tried two ways. one, simple. just in my pocket. to the best of my knowledge, that one is still sitting on some rock formation in AZ over looking some valley a parade of couse deer walked thru at 53 yards.

now i use a simple cord. over my shoulder and neck..let it fall under my right arm. i range and just drop it.

I purchased an aftermarket case for mine that has a lanyard that attaches to the rangefinder. I make the lanyard long enough so when draped over my left shoulder (putting the ranger finder on my right side) it sits just about hip height. Bow in left hand, ranger finder easily brought up and then let down with right hand, and never have to worry about loosing it.

There are few archery companies that make a retractable holder like the one pictured initially in the thread, I have often thought about trying one. Seems like it could be handy if strapped to the chest, belt, etc.

I wear a Primos Bow Hunting Vest. I like it because it is cool (vented) and has lots of pockets. I tie my neck lanyard to a ring on the vest and place the rangefinder in a right side pocket easy to grab. I like the lanyard attatched so I won\'t loose it or I can drop it after rangeing if I have to shoot fast.

Bungee over the shoulder and it hangs down on my right side.

Elaborate on that a bit.

See pic below.
My rangefinder is just below my water tube.
I can tuck it in my pocket when necessary

I just cinch mine up around my neck where I can barely get it up to my eye stays plenty out of the way while shooting and always up in easy reach. hangs about to collar bone you can drop it after ranging, if belly crawling rotate it to my back and its still in easy access when I\'m ready to rise up
