How much food do you carry? Water?

I know this can be a very different for everyone because our hunts are so different, so what do you carry?

With the area I am hunting this year, I am carrying about 2.5-3.5 liters of water, small amounts of candy for happy snacks, two torillas with bacon and peanut butter, jerky and maybe some type of trail mix!!!!

I doubt I\'ll be eating all of that because my hunts will be morning and evening, but it\'s enough where I can sustain my energy levels in the woods if I wanted to stay out for the full day.

Leaving camp, I\'ll have 1 L of water and a bottle that has a filter on it, so I can refill anywhere.

1-2 Clif Bars are good to have along.

And a Judo Tip for grouse.

.

same here.

I drink ALOT of water on the mountain. normally around 4L worth, half of which is mountain stream refill. I LOVE my Katadyn water filter. :)

every now and then I\'ll have a hunt way up high that doesnt cross water (for refill), but that\'s rare.

I dont like hydration bladders cause they tend to freeze up.

I normally load up some jerky, a few granola bars, some trail mix, and some mini candy bars. I typically come back to camp for lunch, but like to have enough in case I end up not making it back for some reason. As far as water goes, I typically take 1.5 liters or so and a 20oz Gatorade. I\'d like to increase that amount, but water weighs a lot and I am not always close to streams where I could refill using a filter.

Tried the nalgene bottle last year in place of the bladder and like it just fine. Got kind of tired messing with the hose on my bladder. Full when I leave camp and water is plentiful the places I\'ve been hunting so I just bring my filter.

Lunch is usually a white bagel with pb&j. Honey Stingers are my favorite energy snack along with some cashews mixed with m&m\'s. Usually some venison jerky or sticks and cheese.

Not a lot unless I\'m spike camping. Mostly a protein bar, some packets of trail mix and some dried fruit in ziploc bags.

If I\'m doing lunch, like Midwest it\'s generally a bagel with pb&j.

I still prefer by bladder of a Nalgene currently and I carry about 40-50 oz of water.

Food? Not much.
Maybe a Snickers and a couple chewy bars to take the edge off.
Or a big oatmeal cookie if my buddy comes hunting

Water. Too much usually
The water in my bladder usually goes bland before I drink it.

Now if we gonna do an all day death march, thats a different menu

A quart of water and a diet pepsi. Also something to snack on like trail mix, peanut butter sandwich, or some sort of protein bar, and maybe an apple. If I\'m going to be out all day, I\'ll throw in some top ramen. I can cook it up with my little alcohol stove and my military canteen cook set.

I know I\'m not in the high country :( :( but on my morning and afternoon deer hunt for my comfy stand I carry a 20 oz bottle of water, a package of cheese and peanut butter crackers, 2 3 musketeers mini\'s and 2 Hershey chocolate solid chunks... After a couple of hours I start munching on what I have and what\'s left I save to make up the afternoon hunt snacks... I sip on the bottle water when ever I want and usually have some left... I\'ll leave it in my stand and drink it 1st the next hunt or until I have too many bottles to mess with in my stand...  I\'ve found that\'s enough to control my blood sugar and curb my appetite until I get back to the cabin for lunch or supper...

And occasionally I\'ll take a Sprite for a mid day treat on the way back to camp... :D :D

I usually carry 5 hot dogs, a pb&j sandwich, some trail mix, a snickers and a salted nut roll. I have 3 liter of water. I hate to go hungry.

This spring turkey hunting in Kansas with Dan we were stuck in a blind on our knees in mud for 5 hours waiting on some turkeys to come closer. I was so hungry! I thought I had a Snickers in my pocket but couldn\'t find. Finally I yelled OH! Dan was like what? Turkeys? I said no I found a Snickers. I shared a smashed Snickers left over from last fall with Dan. It was sooooooo good when your hungry.

Now when I leave the truck September 2nd. I will have 5 days worth of food and 3 liters of water in the bladder. I am bivy hunting this year.
