I am sure we are all deep within our planning phases for this year.

So with that being said, how many days are you taking for your elk hunt this year?

I have 14 days set aside :D

I am usually gone from home for 19 days 14 for the hunt.

Not sure what I\'m doing for my hunt yet. Haven\'t made any plans yet.

I have the first 14 days of September reserved. Possibly heading to Colorado as well but thats still in the air.

Dang, I\'m jealous...I\'ve got 7 days for rifle elk, 5 of which will be hunting, and a few smatterings of weekend days for archery this year. I\'ll be stoked if I\'m in the woods 10 days this year.

I am off work from August 27th through September 25th. I plan on a 3 week hunt give or take a couple days.

I\'m jealous ... I\'ll take the first week of September off ... and then hopefully some weekends if needed. That\'s about it this year.

well probably just Saturday each weekend hopefully nothing else comes up hoping to maybe take a Friday as well(fingers crossed)

I try to take off an entire weekend and use the weekends on either side. Also squeeze in as many weekends as possible.

Counting the days!!

If I draw my Unit 2 archery tag, I plan on 12 days off first of season - 2 days for setting up camp and final scouting/check cameras then 10 days of hunting. These 10 days will determine the rest of my season. I hope to fill this tag then hunt last weekend possibly for a cow. Will have a bear tag too when in Unit 2 but it doesn\'t start until 7 days into the season.

10 days max off work plus one holiday. Should be able to get in 14 days of elk hunting.

Now, if I don\'t take a bull those first 10 days, I\'m likely to come down with a nasty cold towards the last week of the season!

Weekends for archery elk
Two full weeks for Alaska.
Maybe a long weekend for antelope
2-3 long weekends for Neb deer

Time will tell!

PM sent

No PM yet Bill. Going to hold you to your offer to come call if I end up towards the last part of season when more vocal and no elk down!

I have 19 days set aside and may or may not use more depending on if I draw my Utah tag.

Kinda bittersweet as last year I used most my vacation time following my son all over the states as he played college baseball. I saved 5 days and hunted deer in Illinois. This year I had planned on doing the same thing except do a short elk hunt somewhere but that all changed late December as my son messed his knee up weight lifting (torn MCL) getting ready for season. I\'m really glad my wife and I traveled all over last year watching him as his knee injury has ended his playing in college.

So, the good news is I get 24 days of vacation, and nothing planned except hunting!! So I was going to go for a CO 76 archery tag but I have a real good shot at getting my Utah tag so I went for that.

Sorry for the long post!!

Oh and its going to be a long wait for the results to come out!!!

14 days off this year. 16 was a smidge too much..... that includes drive time, so 11-12 days of hunting
