how often to check cameras

so it seems to me that my elk cams usually take a few days off after i check them. it seems to take 2 to 3 days to see consistent elk numbers after i have been in the area. just wondering if other people see this same kind of thing. not sure what to do about it. i usually just walk in, swap cards and leave, i try not to make too much impact. just wondering how long you guys leave between your last card check and your first hunting day.

I usually check cams every 2 weeks after i hang them. We open on the 5th this year, i will run up this week and check. Wont go back in until opener.
