If you all had only 7 days to hunt, how would you go about it?  I've been a couple times and tagged on my 1st hunt but the wind limited our success the 2nd time.  It's only going to be my dad and I in camp.  Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I guess it depends on if you are going back to the same place or somewhere different. If you are going somewhere different then scouting is the most important. If you cant do that in person you will need to determine where you want to go then talk to the biologist for the area, then start looking at whatever maps you can get for the area as well as checking out the are via google earth. The biggest preparation is learning as much about the area before you go. Determine where you want to camp in relation to your hunting area. Will you have a base and spike camp or just do day hunts? If I were you, look for multiple areas you can hit just in case there are not elk in your first choice. Elk move around and can be out of an area for a week at a time before returning so you don't want to waist a whole week where they are not ;)
