I've owned a pair of Danner boots for over 10 years and I've been able to tolerate sore feet for that time. I'm not sure if its the fit or the boot, but it was time to say goodbye.

I spent about an hour and a half trying on and testing boots at Cabelas this weekend and found a pair that feels really good so far (cabelas brand by Meindle). After scouting this coming weekend, my opinion might change, but so far I really like how they feel.

What kind/brand of boots do you wear and do you recommend them?

I have a pair of the Miendle Perfekt Hunters from Cabelas. Had them for 1 year now and love them.  I would recommend them.

I have tried Danner, Lowa, Irish Setters, and Asolo.  They all gave me blisters on the back of my heel.  I picked up a pair of Salomon Quest hiking boots and I absolutely love them.  I am going to keep my eye open for deals and stockpile a few pairs of them.

I used Danner boots for many years and switched to Kenetrek Mountain Extremes a couple years ago. I've been very happy with them and will buy another pair once they wear out. Also if your having issues with sore feet you may want to look at Lathrop and Sons Synergy aftermarket footbeds.  I put them in my Kenetreks and its been a great combination.

I wouldn't buy a new pair just send them back in and have them re-soled.  Love my Kenetreks.  Lots of great boots out there.

Having a goofy sized foot (13a low volume) I have tried damn near every boot on the market.  Many years ago I discovered Lowa's and have stuck with them.  Even though I try numerous different manufacturers (on the treadmill) every year and most if not all get returned.
Lowa Tibets have been my go to and recommended boot for numerous years.  About a month and a half and 80 miles ago I picked up a pair of Lowa Khumba II.  Same great fit, support as the Tibets.  The biggest positive is that they are singnificantly lighter.
Other boots that that have not made the return trip to the manufacturer are Hanwag, Soloman, LaSporteva, and Shnees..
One thing I will always recommend is huking the stock soles/footbeds and invest in some solid footbeds such as the ones made by Lathrop and Sons or Superfeet.

I am a big Danner fan and have used their boots for years.  This past winter I picked up a pair of UA Speed Freeks and I have to say that I do really like their fit and feel.  When I purchased them I anticipated the toearea to stretch a little, but unfortunately they did not.  This caused a bit of a cramped feel in the front of the boot.  After contacting UA directly they sent me a FedEx label and told me they would replace my boots with a larger size absolutely free of charge, no questions asked!  It is a really nice confidence booster when a company stands behind their product 110%  :D .

I have had Danners for many years, but for work, outdoors work. 2 pairs with many years on them.

Been wearing Meindel Ibex for hunting for 12 yrs now, great boot. I don't know if Cabellas still has them.
I also have Cabellas hunting sneaker(original) I use for early and hot season.
A pair of Cabellas Mountain Hiker for hiking and scouting.

Winter snow/ hunting boot is Kenetrek Pack boots, excellent boot.

I have a pair of Meindl's as well and love them.  6 years old and still a great boot.  The sizing is odd, so for sure try them on. I did notice now that i am hunting earlier that they are a bit warm, they have 200gms of thinsulate.  Luckily i won a pair of kenetrek hard scrambles from western hunter tv yesterday.  good thing too, cause i needed that money to spendon a new pack.  :D

+1 rclouse79.  LOVE LOVE LOVE my Salomon Quests.  First boot to ever not give me blisters during the break in period.  My only complaint (and this is true with all gortex products I have used) they don't breathe great.  But a change of socks mid day keeps the boots from getting too saturated with sweat.  They always dry overnight and feel fresh and ready the next mornin.

Danner makes a good boot if you buy the ones made in the USA (Portland Or), but last year I bought a pair of Crispi Wyomings and I love them, I recommend if your looking for a good boot  not to buy from cabelas because almost all there boots are production made in china, all the major boot companys farm a certain product line out for mass production to fill the orders of large outlets. I recommend a boot made in the USA or Italy you may pay more but you get what you pay for.

I just bought me a pair of the Lowa Tibets. I am going on a few hikes within the next couple of weeks so I can break them in. Although they are pretty comfortable already. I can just imagine how they will feel when they are broken in. I have been through three pairs of boots in the last three years and have blown all of them out within the first three weekends of archery season. Everyone  has told me that the Lowas will last and hold up very well. I hope so, I guess we'll find out.

My neighbour recommended Lowa Tibets to me. Was able to find an outstanding deal through a rep out if Western WA. Boots have been great. Very short break in time. Been hiking the hills all summer with them. Also wore them on a snowmobile trip in February. Insulated with wool socks and wad warm all day.  Best boots I've ever owned!

First year using Salomon quest and love them. I agree with how they breathe but not an issue so far. Longest trip was 3 days 3 nights. True test coming up on the 7th..
