Hunting partner wanted

I was out to Montana unit 620-15 the week of September 22 with my buddy and he tagged out on a nice 7X7. Unfortunately for me we had to head home that Friday with a nice freezer full of meat and a very nice trophy. I still have a weeks worth of vacation to burn and would like to get back, but I do not want to do the trip alone. Anyone out there in the same situation, or in need of a hunting partner for that area that would like to team up and hunt the last week of the archery season? I am located in Wisconsin so we could either meet up out there or share the ride.

Where in Wisconsin are you located?  Do you always hunt Montana?  I am in Milwaukee and having a hell of a time finding anyone to hunt Colorado next year.

Bryan, Saw this old post. Looking for possible elk hunting partners for 2018. Have had bad luck with partners dropping out or the ones that go do not really understand elk hunting. I have most gear if needed (wall tent, atv, etc.) Have hunted Montana and Colorado but open to new areas. Have been doing rifle but do bow hunt and muzzleloader. 46 years old in good enough shape. Would like to start meeting to see if we are on the same wave link. In Sheboygan.

This is kinda of weird conversation, but I guess I've had worse. What kind of hunting partner you looking for? As I can see commitment is a huge +++ I'll raise my beer to that. I'm just dropping in because I'm curious.

Josh, what is the weird you are referring too?
I didn't mean to come off like I was being some kind of jerk. This is very new to me yet (Backcountry hunting) and it almost seems like your going thur an interview process. I guess that's whats different for me. I get it tho, time and money involved you need that "click". Me, I've always had it where a conversation would start kinda like this one and and it just goes from there, but I guess it's easier with people that are local vs miles apart. I Know this is going to be an uphill battle for me finding that person to hunt and share an awesome adventure with just because I'm new to the backcountry type of hunting.

Believe me, before you send 10 days in the back country with a guy, you?d better know everything about him. Took a friend to Canada a few years back and found out that he couldn?t cook and didn?t care to do dishes.
Ended up telling him it was a long walk back home. I always drive.

I bet that had to be a ruff experience. when I was first introduced to whitetail hunting I wanted my hands in all the dirty work, part or that was because I was grateful that I was given the opportunity and the other because I wanted the full experience. Work out for pretty well. I'm invite every year now and I still get my hands dirty.

Already had friends that did not work out. 2 just dropped out 2 months and the other 2 weeks before. The thing is I was going with the friend and his friend that did it for 23 years and had most gear and he dropped out, found out later he knew his friend (and mine) would not work out in the woods but he did not tell me this until after we already hunted. The other friend (dropped out two weeks before going) did not have experience but was invited because the guy with 23 years experience dropped out. if this makes sense in writing.
