i found a good trail used by the hogs.

set the camera up several weeks ago. the hog bow hunts for the feral hog ninjas start thanksgiving. so i had every intention to go and get my cameras to minimize theft potential. i wanted to go and get it Sat, but turkey hunt pending..did the natural thing..\"cough cough..boss i dont feel so good..might leave early to catch a nap\" zoom!! raced up there yesterday evening.

i got there and the sun was about to go down. i put on rubber boots to cross water and got my trek poles. i sprinted up the hill. i immediately noted trees that used to be up..in the down position!! oh-o! i speed walk up the mountain. get to my camera and while the camera is there and filming..it has shifted to the right and is pretty much aiming at a branch that was waving in the wind getting photographed..hahahah..

i caught a myriad of photos of animal asses as well. darnit!! i asked a ranger and he said the wind was epic a week ago..knocking down trees. figures.
i race downhill to make dinner plans with the wife and sprung a boot leak crossing the creek again. :D

i\'ll miss the T-day archery feral hog opener, but i plan to catch the monday afterwards. it is go time. i really want one. and there is something magical about climbing around the dark timber solo looking for these things. my flaky friends..well they are flaky and rarely go with me. something about the hogs always living on the steepest stuff. while getting to my camera, i saw a big hog sprint (hog speeds..kinda slow) up a 80 degree slope. like a Abrams tank. i barely caught his pic on my iphone. yellow hog in yellow grass.

the army corp of eng might let us pack camp a few nights at a time.

should be a game changer to be able to stay out there instead of coming in to my truck all the time.

admittedly, i still get kinda turned around back there. there is a wallow i saw and never found ever again.
