Howdy,
Well today is the day to begin checking off the first item on my bucket list and quite frankly, I haven't been able to sleep much at all because of my excitement!
Bucket List Item #1. Rocky Mountain Elk hunting for a big bull elk. Yep, I'm finally getting a chance to go hunting for RME after raising my children and putting them through college, et.al... Elk have been on my list since I was a youngster and I watched black and white TV of shows like: "Wild America" and "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom". Every since then, I've wanted to hunt these awesome animals. Back then, I didn't know there was anything like a "bucket list". Now I get my chance and I leave today for a week of hunting them in New Mexico. ;D YEEHAW. I feel like a kid that's been waiting on Christmas. For you veterans, I hope the excitement I'm trying to relay here will bring back the "rush of joy" you got on your first elk hunt. I've never been one to take lots of photos, but I'm going to try my best to capture the trip for posterity.
