OK. May be a while though. My dad is about to have heart surgery and has asked if I could help take care of him. Hopefully all goes well and he\'s back up and at it in a month or so.
Razorback, just to reiterate what Scott said. My dad(72) has COPD and emphesema and was on a lung transplant list. Got the call and had surgery at 03:30 am. Had traech tubes out later that same day. Was up and walked a short distance within 36 hours. Only 2 days in ICU then 7 days in a recovery room. 10 days total and was back home recovering without ANY oxygen at all! He\'s able to walk about a 1/4 mile at a time which hasn\'t been able to do that for YEARS!
Prayers for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery.
Thanks, his surgery will be to repair an aortic aneurysm. They just found it last year. He just had it checked out again last week and it\'s grown quite a bit. He has consultation tomorrow. Thanks for the prayers.
steve ive been in on several aortic aneurysm surgeries. while they are tough surgeries, much much better to do them scheduled than emergent. scheduled usually turn out very well, emergents dont. so be glad they caught it. where they doing the sugery at.
I\'m not sure where he is going to have it done. His consultation is with the VA in St. Louis and I\'m very opposed to that. He is thinking he will do it closer to home (St. Francis in Cape). I should know more this evening.
