wow. things have changed..there are swabs, foams, etc.
new things on the market.

i am gonna start shooting my rifles again. i keep get invited to hunts on private property. i bring my bow, which is a big disadvantage if everyone is carrying a rifle. time to get on board with the program. to many wild hogs going on unharmed :) my friends are really cool and tend to give me the nod to every hog since i brought the bow to the gunfight. we would kill more if i had a rifle

rifle. Weatherby Mark __ in .257 WBT magnum. i just bought two boxes of 100 grain norma spitzers..rifle should spit them out at 3600+ fps. i typically shoot 120 noslers, but i am at the mercy of my gun shops feeble ammo selection..quite frankly, i was stunned they had any at all. (serious chink in the weatherby armor is ammo availability)

+ a 30.06 bread and butter, vanilla gun.

i used to just use a brass brush, swab jag, one piece rod..some hoppes #9 and some remlube..

now there are \"snakes\"!!! i am not up to speed in gear.

Cliff, I use a product called \'Wipe Out\' to clean the barrel. Just pour some in the barrel and I roll the rifle around as it goes down so all sides get some on it. Then just run some patches through after sitting a few minutes without any brushes.

I also have a \'snake\' that I can use instead of the patches but really like the Wipe Out product. I am an old-school user of Hoppe\'s and was told that\'s not as good but it worked for many years. Wipe Out is so fast and easy.

There might be a lot of \'new\' products out there, but nothing wrong with the tried and true method :upthumb:
