Idaho elk tag in the mail!

Just went online and purchased my 2013 elk tag online! This marks my 12th year in se Idaho! Later in the summer I will buy a deer tag and a wolf tag! Man i love Idaho!  Anyone else get tags early?  Can never plan early enough!

I always use Idaho as a back up plan for elk. If I don't draw a big tag somewhere I always go Idaho over the counter. Problem is i think they are coming close to selling out the unit I hunt so I may have to plan ahead a little more in future years.

I purchased my resident license and bow permit along with my elk tag.  Just waiting to put in for my deer, antelope and big horn sheep hunt.

I would love to take my dad over to Idaho but I do not know it at all. I need to find a place that has trails to walk that are not to steep because me dad can't walk that far anymore. I can call pretty well and always get us to see animals but it's hard getting my dad close for a shot.


If anyone has any ideas for a place to take him there, please let me know!

I mean the southwest idaho units are pretty flat but its a draw unit unless you buy OTC rifle tag for cow only.

Thanks BullHunter, I'll have to take a look at that area and what the requirements are. How hard is it to get drawn for that area being from out of state? Are there extra costs involved for drawing from out of state?
