Anyone have any experience hunting this unit in Idaho? It's a pretty big unit with a lot of timber, and seems like a lot of road access. Any info would be appreciated.
I hunted this unit last year, and plan to this upcoming season. There is a lot of road access, but most trails are closed to motor vehicles. What would you like to know about the unit?
I have hunted that area that last three years. I have been in the elk every year and last year i was able to take a spike bull. Lot of road traffic later in the season. Im not sure if im going to hunt that unit again this year or try another one. Good luck to you and if you have any questions just PM me.
Hey BullHunter, I am fairly new to the area to, only having hunted it the past season. What type of areas did you generally see elk in this particular unit?
what dates are you headed out to 32A? Im still unsure what unit im going to hunt. Work has been so crazy that i havent even had a day to get out and scout new areas. I may just end up back in 32A since i know where the bulls are.
Last year i went out on the 13th and the bulls weren't bugling yet. I did manage to get a spike to come in right before dark and smoked him. The year before last i went out on the 8th and i have the bulls bugling but couldn't seal the deal. Good luck to you.
Thanks guys. I'm actually rifle hunting for cows in unit 32A starting Oct 1st. I'll be archery hunting in MT this year. Like I said, I've never hunted the area and it's a pretty big unit so I'm just trying to narrow down some starting points since I won't have many days to hunt. I've been looking through google earth quite a bit and also have taken a couple scouting trips. I'm assuming starting at the higher elevations in the unit would be a good starting point.
