i love history, all history. but the civil war is my passion. so i drove the 8 hours to shiloh tn yest and toured shiloh and corinth today. regardless of which side you fall on all i can say is WOW. I have been to four other major battle sites, although none on the east coast, and shiloh is amazing. i walked the exact same shoe steps my gggg grandfather did as he fought with the 18th mo (nobodies perfect, lol). if anyone even likes history make the trip, you will not be disappointed.

Sounds like a very cool trip!
With all the extra time you\'ve been putting in working at those travel placements, you definitely deserved a fun get away.

Sounds like you got that. :upthumb:

Love Civil War history myself. You have Wilson\'s Creek over there in your part of the state. I\'ve only been to Petersburg battlefield in VA. It\'s awesome. Been by Appomattox Courthouse but didn\'t have time to stop. One of these days I\'m gonna go to Gettysburg.

steve, i havnt been, but the east coast/gettysburg stuff is all within a 100 miles or so. would be a bucketlist trip. yes i have spent alot of time at wilsons creek and some at pea ridge. both are very nice. but, perryville in ky is great and shiloh is simply AWESOME. its not to far from you and well worth the trip if you like cw stuff. i imagine you are 4-5 hours at the most from them. make sure you go to corinth also while your that close.
