It's may!  4 months to go!  how close is everyone to goals of "being ready" for the season?  I'm sitting at 190 lbs here on the chair today.  that's 25 lbs down since January.  Shooting for another 15 lbs loss before Sept.  gets here.  Less than 5 lbs a month should be achievable.  Got a new membership to the archery club in Missoula to ensure the miss doesn't repeat this year.  Hope everyone's training and prep is on mark.

Its coming up quick! At least it feels that way for me. I am not quite where I want to be with my cardio training yet. First time out of state in the mountains I need to step it up a notch to be ready for it. Looking forward to some test runs with weekend camping trips and my new gear.

HEY - That's my line....LOL

I've got to young boy's that have been keeping me busy with turkey's (like bird dog said). Colin (9) got his last week and Dylan (13) got his last night. I don't realy want to talk about my hunt last night...

I'm down 15 lbs with about 15 more to go. I'm hoping I'll be ready as far as gear goes. I've never been to the "back country" hunting before, but I am a gear junky (so I've been told) so i should have everything I need, my pack may weigh 156lbs but I should have everything...haha.

September 6th is the day me and dad head out!!

Within 2 pounds of goal weight down 39 pounds since Christmas. Still crosstraining 5 days a week as well as training for half marathon. Need to shoot more which will start next week when I finish coaching my NASP team in the nationals this weekend in Louisville, KY. We leave the 5th of september for two weeks.

Dang you guys are doing much better than I am, I have somehow managed to gain 5 lbs.  I've started running a little bit, just need to keep it up.  Been shooting a ton though so I'm feeling pretty good about that.  got my bow sighted in out to 150 yards, my buddies think I'm crazy for shooting that far but it really makes 40 yards seem really close!!!

I am in question for how my year is going to pan out i dislocated my shoulder the other night playing with my 4 yr old girl . the pain has been great and the depression that is hitting me with what i can not do and what i might not be able to do. i am sitting here with no medical and a bum shoulder  what do i do now other than reat it and hope i have enough to at least get broad head tuned and make at least one shot to hit home. this sux bad. and i was in a hard training as well with great results. now im a gimp. Damit i need my elk hunt with my bow.

Ran a 1/2 marathon yesterday(see thread in fitness section). Down 45lbs since 1 Feb, cant shoot right now currently deployed. I have been doing traintohunt.com and pulling my bowfit back atleast 5 times a day. Cant wait to return state side and get my bow out again.

If you don't have medical throw some ice on that bad boy and use the power of free information to find out how to nurse a dislocation back to health.  There has to be some solid information out there regarding what assists you shoulder to heal.  Sorry to hear about the bad luck though.  That would be a big blow.
