King\'s Canyon

I posted this down on the camping section but thought maybe more would see it here. Anyhow, bnsafe brought up the idea of an Elk Mentors camp out a couple of months ago. So here is an idea. The CBA is having their annual King\'s Canyon Shoot next weekend, north of Walden. ( I know, short notice, HUH!) Free camping and about 30 or so 3-D targets to shoot up. It would be a great place to hook up. Whata ya think!

I will (hopefully) be driving by there next weekend ... would surely stop in, but wouldn\'t be able to stay. Plans are still in the air, but we\'re hoping to camp in the Encampment area that weekend.

I\'m so jealous of you guys. I live in Southeast Missouri and can\'t afford to drive out to Colorado to camp out. I have asked the wife to move out there when I retire which is soon. She gives me a stern \"No\". She\'s not the outdoor type and just doesn\'t understand. Camping out in Mark Twain National Forest doesn\'t appeal to me so much as you are never very far from a gravel road littered in beer cans and bottles. Anyway looking forward to September, hope to experience the moutains get to take it all in, have fun!

oh john, there is a outfitter at encampment we have shot ground squirrels an p dogs on. if your looking for a super fun day of shooting pm me an i will give you some info. its a blast.

So I was just doing a little research on this, sounded like it could be a fun time, and correct my if i\'m wrong but it looks like this shoot was last weekend, not this upcoming weekend

I just looked on the Colorado Bowhunter\'s Assosiation website and it give the date for the Kings Canyon 3D shoot as June 14th and June 15th.... :? :?

I got shot down also. Honey do\'s & a hospital procedure for her today pretty much finalized my decision. Woulda, coulda, shoulda been a perfect get to gather. Those who make it have fun & stay safe.
