Leg gaiters?

For September elk hunt in Colorado are leg gaiters needed?  I've never used them before and was thinking about getting some. Just not sure if I need them or not.

Kennetrek has awesome gaiters, if there is dew on the ground I take mine they keep my pant legs dry along with the upper half of my boots. they also keep out little burs that tend to be arounds. Never hunted Colorado as I am in North Idaho.

I agree, take'm. Dew in the morning will soak your pants legs. Just keeps the lower parts dry and clean. I have a pair from Cabelas and one from Kennetrek, like them both.

love gaiters.  they can be pretty handy.  not just for the obvious reasons.  i once started a long hike into a remote area with a buddy under the cover of darkness...we both accidentally stepped into a spring flowing under a marsh and plunged our feet into a foot of water.  my gaiters kept the water out of my pants and boots, while my buddy wishing he had some on was cursing the rest of the day due to his soaking wet feet.  i guess that brings up another good piece of advice....bring extra socks in your pack
