What do you guys think of Mathew\'s new line up for bows? Particularly the \"No Cam\" I\'m anxious to shoot one. I am still shooting my switchback xt from 2005 and really have no desire to switch but these new bows have me intrigued enough to want to shoot one. Not looking to debate bow manufacture\'s here... curious about thoughts on the new \"No Cam\" series.

They look pretty dang nice Jeremy. I think you should buy two...one for me so we can do a thorough review. :D

Two things that make me a bit hesitant

1- the 6 5/8\" brace height
2- the $1000+ price tag

Well Luke, I will put two on my Christmas list and see if Santa agrees to the request! Hows that? :p

And yes I agree Brad, the $1000 price tag will likely keep me shooting my Switchback XT. I think I will go shoot one anyhow just to see how it compares to a single cam.

Sounds good to me! lol. Careful going test driving.....if you love it then you really will be in trouble! :p

What\'s the main advantage here?

Smooth draw, I\'m sure ...

As much as I say I wouldn\'t want to spend that much, I have to admit that I occasionally find myself looking at $1000 rifles ... like last weekend. And I don\'t shoot rifles much, nor do I \"need\" one. But Cabelas had Sakos on sale for $999 in a range of calibers.

It seems, though, that a $1000 rifle will be around longer than a $1000 bow. I\'d pass that Sako to my grandkids ... the bow? Not so much.

On the other hand, I\'m typing this on a $1000 machine that will be useless within a year or two, so ...

Shoot, I had a round wheel no cam bow in the early 70\'s. Real smooth and slow!

It think this is the point. All the attributes of the wheel without the cons. This could possibly turn the archery world on its head as Mathews
did when they brought out the solocam. My buddy and I made fun of them when the solocam came out. Look where Mathews is now.
With over 20 years of archery I have always stayed with PSE but dang.....I am really starting to like the looks of this thing. Ok....so the pros are looking like: smooth, quiet, accurate, no timing issues, straight nock travel (what is not to like here) and what cons??? Other than the price tag and let\'s face it what high end bow is anyone going to buy these days sub $800? Not many. Ok, maybe it isn\'t a worm burner pushing 370fps like PSEs Full Throttle but I bet this new Mathews is a heck of a lot more forgiving! Especially when you compare the brace height. Sub 6 brace heights makes me have one eye brow raised. This Mathews brace height would seem ideal for me. I\'ve always been way more concerned with accuracy and kinetic energy down range than a paper light arrow hitting a big bull at 60 yards. The 330fps this Mathews claims isn\'t exactly slug speeds either! Time will tell if this bow is legit but I\'m with Jeremy....Daddy likes. And NO, I do NOT want to demo one. Bad medicine for a kid on a budget.

I agree completely Luke with what you wrote. For me and my specs, speed is never going to be a major selling point for me anyway. I can only get so much speed with a barely 27 inch draw length no matter what I shoot! :) As for the price, in 2005 when I bought my swbackxt I spent well over $1000 with all the extras I added (sights, stabilizer, quiver, etc.). That was almost 10 years ago. So if I get 10+ years out of a bow, the $1000 price tag doesn\'t bother me as much...I\'m not in to upgrading but about every 10+ years anyway. The problem that I am having now is other than something that is going to be better in draw cycle and release, I\'m not going to gain speed and I am pretty dang accurate with my xt, so why spend the money to upgrade....ah decisions decsisions.

I have liked everything about Matthews bows except the grip. I have to admit I have not shot one, so I am going on experiences with other bows that had wide wood grips. I have done better with a narrow grip, but would like to try the new one. Jeremy, I don\'t want you to talk to Santa on my behalf. If you tick him off, by asking for too much, you may not get even one bow, and I would never hear what you think of the new no cam bow.

Am I the only one that noticed the axils in the wheels are off center. This makes the wheel act like a cam , only with a smoother draw.
