what a trip. killed more quail that ever in my life. they were thick. we shut it down for fear of going over the limit!! gambels and scaled quail.

we asked the ranch owner if \"grannies place\" still had cottontail. oh yes! i killed four rabbits with my pellet rifle. super fun! one shot was a head shot at 40 yards. we grilled them and ate them every night. so tasty. better than chicken.

euroasian dove. oh boy. invasive species and the season is year round with no limit. GAME ON! we were blasting them from the ranch owners sister\'s place while she was away to work. what a tough bird to kill.. super tasty, milder than a mourning dove.

there was so much to shoot at, i\'m damn surprised we even hunted deer.

notable mentions.

we ate, deer testicles. (did that done that, never again)
ate dove hearts skewers.
rabbits
deer heart tacos
quail gizzards.

i am damn thankful no coyotes came in. one guy said he was gonna bbq a chunk. phew!
i almost kneeled on a rattlesnake baby. november snake.. great. he must have missed the memo to go underground and sleep.
i got bitten by a spider on the hand.
i have many new holes in my body from cactus.
my pellet rifle is sick.

Awesome Cliff, although I might have been finding the nearest drive thru if I was with you guys

Nothing like a trip where you just wear out the shoulder by shooting a bunch.

Sounds like fun. Bobwhites are pretty much extinct around here. Used to kill them all the time when I was a kid. Some of the best game meat hands down. I don\'t even own shotgun set up for small game anymore, they are all turkey guns. I guess I could use one and go shoot some swampers, they are some pretty good sized critters.
