\"Swede\" said:I am only a moderator here, but to the best of my knowledge Troy and Pete are always more than welcome on the forum. Pete felt he was misunderstood and said he was leaving. I am not sure why we have not heard from Troy. We have not heard from the ladies that used to frequent the forum either. Olympus Hunt and Stringunner are AWOL too. I miss having the opportunity to pester them too.
I do not know just how or to whom this may apply, but please don\'t let posts on this forum hurt you personally. It is easy to write things that are not sensitive to where you are. One of us may misunderstand and say something awful. We may try to be funny, but it can hit like a punch in the stomach. There are very few of you that I have ever met in person. When I offend you, please send me a PM and tell me what a jerk I have been, and I will try to straighten it out.
We want the forum to be a fun friendly place to visit and discuss hunting. We really want to be the go to place for less experienced hunters, especially those looking for elk. My advise to any lurkers is to come in and pull up a chair by the campfire, and feel free to join in the conversation, or add your own. We don\'t know it all, or claim to, but there is a lot of hunting experience available to anyone that asks. It is ok to offer a comment. You won\'t be ridiculed. I like the forum here, because as hunters we can disagree and discuss things without being condescending or nasty.

I have said things to some, but it is far safer to keep quiet, and their comment will very soon be forgotten. Folks that frequent forums, know the on-line characters, that are know-it-all legends in their own mind.
Here is another hint on people to be weary of. If they write or behave like they know more than everyone else, they probably hunt a small area and think all the elk world is like their backyard. It\'s not.
travis, you are very correct! there are several on here that i have had the priveledge to hunt with because of this forum! you know who you are\"Wapiti\" said:What amazes me is the fact that we are all elk hunters here. Thus we are all brothers !!
We can talk with others that are 2000miles away !! Some guys even become friends and will end up hunting together some day !! That\'s a win win in my book !
So pull up a stump and sit around our fire. There\'s no better place to learn. Like posted earlier we don\'t all know everything and that\'s the great thing ! We always can learn something new. I sure have and it can be something so little like a set up tip or calling tip. Sometimes it\'s to smallest thing that leads to a bull on the ground or just a successful call in !!
The greatest tip I just learned was from (WW) and it helped us bring home an elk calling world title !! So don\'t be afraid to ask a question on here as someone may have the answer !!
